About Judy

Judy Lynch Smithey paints in various media and enjoys a wide range of subject matter.  Nature provides much of the inspiration and content of her paintings.

For several years, Judy studied watercolor and design with nationally known artist and teacher Jo Taylor, and continued studies with Al Brouillette and Edgar Whitney.

Judy's paintings have won numerous awards and have been exhibited in national and regional juried shows.

Judy is a signature member of the Mid-Southern Watercolor Society of Little Rock, Arkansas and an artist member of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York City, New York.

Judy's paintings are in many private and corporate collections including the restored antebellum homes of the National Historical Society.

"As an artist, I strive to interpret the world around me.  I feel little obligation to reflect what I see, only embellish it through the use of design and decoration.  I hope to give the viewer a look into the world...not as it is, but as we may dream."
