How to Uncurl Watercolor Paper

by Judy on March 9, 2014

Sometimes the watercolor paper will curl as it dries after painting.  This also is found when you buy watercolor paper in large rolls to cut larger sizes of paper.  Since it has been in a roll, you will find that your cut paper will have a curl.    Here’s a tip to help fix that:

To uncurl watercolor paper,  sponge off the back of painting or paper with water and attach it, right side up with good strong clips like the ones shown, to a support such as masonite board or something similar and sightly larger than the paper.  Leave clipped until the paper dries and is warm to the touch.
